Though the Knitsmiths are rather fond of dry land, a fresh pot of tea and a plate of scones, occasionally we will be lured out of the Foundry to diversions over the sea. Or harbour (Sydney harbour, to be precise).
We visited the Manly Art Gallery & Museum (via ferry as nary a dirigible was in sight) and how delighted were we to behold the treasure trove of Beach Culture artifacts on display.
Victorian swimwear, warnings not to swim or face prosecution, sun brollies, swim caps – quite breathtaking!

Oooh!!! The brollies!! My pale freckled skin is crying out to stroll under those lovelies. Gorgeous!
It was lovely exhibition – I went there to see a printmaking show, so it was quite a surprise!
